Mr. Thurm’s Government Class
On Thursday, September 15, the seniors currently taking American Government had the great opportunity to witness our judicial system at work! We traveled to Marshalltown to observe three cases heard in the Iowa Court of Appeals. Following the hearings, there was a question and answer session for the students to participate in. Emilie Thomas spoke up to ask about the procedures of the court, and Elyse Roseland was able to go up to the stage to meet a court recorder and see the machine used to type transcripts. This is not an opportunity that comes along very often, so I am glad we were able to take advantage of this for our students!
